Once upon a time there was a tavern Where we used to raise a glass or two, Remember how we laughed away the hours. And dreamed of all the great thing we would do.   Those were the days, my friend We thought they'd never end. We'd sing and dance forever and a day; We'd live the life we chose. We'd fight and never lose, For we were young and sure to have our way. La la la la la la ----- Those were the days Oh. yes, those were the days.   Then the busy years went rushing by us. We lost our starry notions on the way. If by chance I'd see you in the tavern. We'd smile at one　 another and we'd say. Just tonight I stood before the tavern, Nothing seemed the way it used to be. In the glass I saw a stranger reflection. Was that lonely fellow really me?   Through the door there came familiar laughter. I saw your face and heard you call my name. 옛날, 아주 오랜 옛날 선술집이 하나 있었지 우리가 술 한두잔씩 들던 곳 말이야 기억이 나지? 우리가 몇시간동안 한바탕 웃곤 했던 일들을 그리고 우리가 하고 싶었던 것들에 대해 꿈을 꾸었지 나의 친구야, 좋았던 그시간들 우린 생각했어 그날이 영원히 끝나지 않을 거라고 우린 영원히 노래하고 춤추며 우리가 선택한 삶을 살아갈 수 있을거라고 우린 싸움에서 결코 지지 않을 거라고 왜냐하면 우린 젊고 우리의 길을 맘대로 갈 수 있었으니까 라라라랄랄 좋았던 시절 오, 그래, 정말 좋았던 그 시간들 그러고는 힘든 시간들이 우리 곁을 지나갔지 우린 그 와중에 우리의 빛나는 꿈을 잃어 버렸지 우연히 내가 그 술집에서 널 만난다면 우린 서로 미소를 보내며 말하겠지 오늘밤 난 그 술집앞에 서있었어 옛날과 같은 것은 하나도 없어보였지 유리창엔 낯선 사람들이 비쳐졌어 나이 들어버린 그 외로운 사람이 정말 내 모습이었을까? 그 문틈 사이로 낯익은 웃음소리가 들려 왔는데 너의 얼굴이 보였고 네가 날 부르는 소릴 들었어 오, 나의 친구여 우린 나이가 들었지만 여전히 현명해지진 않았구나 우리 마음속에 그 꿈들이 여전히 남아 있으니까 말이야
